Dear friends and colleagues,

On behalf of the AWF Board of Directors I am delighted to formally announce that the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has selected Mr Miles Wydall to the position of Team Leader/Coach - Weightlifting Section of the 2016 Australian Olympic Team.

Miles will ensure the needs of Tia-Clair Toomey (58kg Category) and Simplice Ribouem (94kg Category) will be fully met as they both aim to record personal best performances on the Olympic stage and place top 16 within their respective events. Tia-Clair will be first in action on Monday 8th August followed by Simplice on Saturday 13th August.

I have attached the Rio Olympic Games Weightlifting Schedule for your easy reference.

The AWF Board sincerely thanks the AOC and all its staff for the many hours of hard work and for the generous support directed toward our athletes. I am sure you all join me in wishing the AOC Team every success in Rio by realising its ambitious goal of finishing top five on the Rio medal tally table.
