2019 AWF UNDER 23 & JUNIOR WEIGHTLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIPS - REGULATIONS - UPDATED

Jun 05 2019

Dear State Members,

Please be advised that the AWF Board of Directors have endorsed a recommendation of the AWF High Performance Commission to amend the following AWF National Championships regulation:

Athletes may enter and compete in the bodyweight category in which they have achieved qualification. Athletes may move up to a heavier category if they have achieved the qualifying total for that heavier category. Athletes cannot compete in a lighter bodyweight category if they have not qualified in that lighter category. The final category of choice must be declared at the verification of final entries.

Example: A Junior male lifter achieves a Total of 176kg in the 73kg category within the qualifying period for the 2019 AWF Junior Championships. He can enter the 73kg category. He can compete in the 73kg category, or change his entry and compete in the 81kg category. He cannot change his entry and compete in the 67kg category.

Important: This amendment applies to the 2019 AWF Under 23 and Junior Championships and all AWF Championships thereafter.

Please find attached a new entry form for the 2019 AWF National Under 23 and Junior Championships with the amended regulation highlighted.

Regards
Ian Moir
